Incredible food and a very clean and friendly staff

Visited this spot today after Brasstown Bald and had the best time. Issac was friendly and attentive, the food and drink selection was inclusive. We ordered some appetizers and drinks and enjoyed them fully. While the Mac and cheese balls weren’t a hit, their fries are seriously some of the best I’ve had in a while. Would recommend to anyone in the area, staff was friendly and the food was more than I expected .

My goodness we love this place. We live in metro Atlanta but come up to Dahlonega every December for Christmas festivities and always stop at Spirits for a burger, beer and Mac n cheese bites. It is usually very busy when we go so plan on putting your name on the list before you are ready to eat. Service always rocks and the food never disappoints. We won’t come to Dahlonega without a meal here. That’s the only restaurant in the area we can say that about.

My husband stopped here about a week ago and insisted on us driving up from Atlanta for lunch. He tends to exaggerate so I wasn't sure what to expect. No exaggeration folks, the food is bomb! Today we had the Kalettes to start. He had the chicken salad sandwich with fried green beans. I had the patty melt with mac bites. Everything was sooo good. Social distancing, clean restaurant and bathrooms. Health score 99.

Had lunch today with some friends and everyone had a great meal. Wife had the Dragon Breath burger and said it was the best burger she has had in a very long time. Burgers are cooked to order from rare to well done, all came as ordered.

I’ve had “award winning” burgers all over Atlanta, and around the US, and the monster I contended with at Spirits may very well be the best yet. Outstanding! Great atmosphere and beer as well. Won’t miss it next time we’re in town.

Words can not describe this amazing experience. Staff, food, atmosphere. Top notch. Oh and if you love whiskey, this place has 70 plus different brands. Enjoy.

Crazy-Good burgers! You have got to try the Mac-n-Cheese bites. Unusual, but very good. The Cole slaw was good too. Our server was very attentive as well. Nice atmosphere.I went back recently and we had to try something new. We had the Imposter burger and Another Rude Awakening Dog. Both were fabulous! If course we had to get the Mac-n-Cheese bites too. So Good.

I love this place! Seriously.. when I die, I want to haunt Spirits so I never have to leave. Best burgers I’ve ever had — and trust me, I’ve had a lot of burgers (recovering vegetarian, here). Service is always great, drinks are incredible, and the live music on Fridays makes for such a fun atmosphere. I’ve never had an experience short of wonderful. Such a special piece of Dahlonega!

My friend and I played here for an acoustic gig not to long ago. Great selection of craft beer from local breweries. We didn't get a chance to eat, but I heard the food is great from the customers as well. Will have to try it out next time!

Tonight we decided to stray from our usual eateries in town and opted to try Spirits. Honestly, it was mediocre. The menu is straightforward. You have a choice of apps (no wings), salads, burgers, and hot dogs. That’s it. Since this was our first visit, it would have been helpful if our server explained ordering. The description or verbiage on the menu was slightly confusing. However, we figured it out ourselves & realized one could build their own burger. For example, the Augusta offers a white cheddar pimento cheese spread, add your meat & voila you have your burger. I selected the Augusta with a veggie patty. The burger was satisfactory. The rest of the family seemed to agree-good burger, but had better. Re: service, a tad slow as it was Friday. Server was pleasant and attentive given the amount of people. Will we go back, not sure.

Excellent food and drinks in a sleepy little North Georgia town. Service was great. We were out-of-towners and didn't expect much but was glad to see they made food and atmosphere a focus here. If we're ever back, this would be a stop on our trip.

WOAH! This place is AMAZING! I am a vegetarian and this place is REVOLUTIONARY. They offer any of their burger options to have either a veggie patty or a multitude of other meats. EVERY RESTAURANT should do this! The Gooey Burger was the most amazing burger I've ever had in my entire life. There was so much cheese. It was heaven on earth. We went there on our honeymoon and I still tell people about the gooey burger. It was so good we went back again the next day and I got the same thing. Y'all! Seriously eat here!!!!! ITS AMAZING

Very casual. Tavern is the right name. Great food, especially burgers. FULL bar and drink menu!

The service was excellent and attentive. The food was just alright. The interior is extremely dark and probably a better place for dinner than for lunch on a nice day. We ordered the Trash Pile and I thought it would be more like nachos over tater tots than a burger over tater tots, but it was still creative and fun. I recommend ordering extra sauces though because it isn’t served with any. The crab roll was good and my boyfriend enjoyed his burger.

Great burgers that are not the same old offerings. You won't regret trying something new and complimenting it with a craft brew on tap. The beer is almost as cool as the people working here.

Delicious!! Spirits Tavern was a pleasant surprise! The cocktails were top notch and had such creative,fresh ingredients. We had the fried green tomatoes for our appetizer. They were not your average fried green tomatoes, they were kicked up a notch with pimento cheese and remoulade sauce. The Chicago dog is amazing. It is a huge, messy dog of amazing flavors. The tator tots were of course delicious, I tried 3 of their housemade sauces to dip them in, they were all so good! Would definitely return!

Spirits Tavern is my go-to spot in Dahlonega. Their fried Mac n cheese is to die for!! They have something for everyone here, and ultra friendly staff. Definitely give them a try when you're in town.

We didn’t get a chance to order anything. Extremely rude girl at the front. Said there was a 10 minute wait asked my sister for name then asked for phone number. She didn’t have a phone. Went to ladies room came back. Standing there waitress came up ask name Gave it too her she said your not on list. We said we gave to other girl. Other girl came back up my sister said gave name to her and very nastily she said she wouldn’t give me a phone number. So we were not put on waiting list because of a phone number???? Wow Sat for 5 minutes no offers of drink so we got up and left.

We have had great dining experiences here with our friends. The burgers are exceptional. The mac and cheese bites are great. Always great food and comfortable atmosphere.

We each had a burger, and I had the chili as an appetizer. All the food was great! I would definitely recommend the chili on a cold day, and as for the burgers, just ask the staff for their recommendations. However, no matter how nice the food was, the wait time is not worth it! For lunch, it could be nice to walk around the shops while waiting for the ready text, but at dinner time, all the shops were closed. My other complaint is that they only have one high chair, which means our squirmy baby had to sit on our laps! This was especially annoying because the other high chair was being used to hold a car seat...

We didn't choose this place it chose us because it was the only restaurant open at the time. To our surprise the food and drinks were delicious! Highly recommend and will definitely go back!

I loved the decor and vibe of the restaurant. Definitely different and I loved that. If you're looking for a different eating experience come here because it was awesome. The food was the cheery on top. The drinks were awesome and our waitress was the sweetest. I'm definitely coming here for halloween.

Normally we love this place but the last three times three the service as extremely slow or was completely ingored and it was only people at the bar. Still one of the best places to get a good drink

Great service! Lacey (bartender) was super friendly and knowledgeable and the burgers were incredible! I cleaned my plate (gooey burger and fries) which does not happen often! Great lunch spot!

The burgers were incredibly tasty. There were options aside from fries for sides, but the fries were perfectly seasoned so just enjoy them :) The service was great and the place was clean.

Spirit's is great! Love the new wood tables, they really add to the aesthetics of the room, and decor overall is quirky and cool. Food is great. While it may seem expensive (and technically is) you get both quantity and quality food, so it is definitely worth the money.Overall, love it!

Delicious burgers in a cool, aesthetic environment. The service was quick even for our large party of 12 and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Parking is a bit difficult to find downtown but the shops nearby are all fun to explore.

Amazing burgers and hot dogs. The atmosphere is kind of weird, but the service was wonderful. Gourmet food at decent prices, about $13 for a fancy burger.

Every time I come to Dahlonega, I have to come here. I also highly recommend it to everyone I know visiting the area. I first came here on Thanksgiving day, as it waa the only place open. I've come back twice more with friends and they also loved it.

It was so good the first night, we went back for lunch the next day!
